Trip to Japan Tokyo / Osaka

I recently spent a few weeks in Japan, first staying in Ginza Tokyo then catching the Shinkansen (bullet-train) to Osaka for 5 days. The best experience was shopping at the 'EVISU THE TOKYO' store. The gentleman serving me was extremely polite and accommodating and it was good to talk shop with a fellow denim enthusiast. Tried on a few models (Lot 2005 and 2000T) but in the end came away with 2 pairs of the tried and true '66 cut lot 2000. To mark my trip I decided to get my gulls painted in the stores own colour 'TOKYO BLUE'.

Nudie Grim Tim Dry Shiga Selvage

These arrived at my door from Sweden. 11oz lightweight denim, just in time for summer. Limited run, seems to be GREEN-CAST denim in the Grim Tim cut. First pair of Nudies for me so excited to see how they pan out and hold up against Japanese denim. I sized up 1 trying to manipulate the cut as much as possible. Not generally a fan of skinny jeans so wanted as much leg room as possible. Am a natural size 29-30 so went for a size 31W32L. The waist is probably perfect right now, of course will stretch a little so a belt will come in handy and also happy with the leg. Now to rock for summer and see how they fade...

APC New Standard : New VS Old

A.P.C. New Standards Size 28. Even though they are a very minimalist jean, I have been impressed with how they have held up over the years. My pair are probably due for a few repairs, their actual wear time is approximately 2 years give or take with half a dozen soaks/washes in between.

EVISU International No.13 LEFT Lot 0200 and Brown Box Lot 0005

Not an exact reproduction of any specific vintage Lee cowboy model, these lazy S's (Lot 0200) are more of a homage piece by EVISU International. Released 2008, both size 29. Pictured next to EVISU International's Wrangler (Lot 0005) tribute jeans. In my opinion the 2 best models the International label has ever produced.

EVISU No.2 Lot 2000 Repaired! *Updated at 4 years of wear

After spilling battery acid on my No.2's (derp), I had them patched up by the guys at UpThereStore in South Melbourne and am extremely happy with the work that was done to them. Hard to say exactly how many wears Ive given them as Ive had them for a few years but I would say its probably about 1 full year of solid wear and I think 3 washes in total. Still plenty of life in the old boy yet though.

Levi's Vintage Clothing 1947 501

Levi's post WWII 501 model produced in 12oz Cone Mills denim. Key features are the red selvage line, Big 'E', double stitched arc's and the 2 horse leather patch.

EVISU Heritage

EVISU HERITAGE vintage Levi Strauss reproduction in the staple d85 denim. Key features are the plain pockets and the rising sun selvage line. A very basic pair of  EVISU but not without its charm. Size 30 Leg 34.
